Looking for Sensation Mower but found Bob-Cat

Hi all, I am new to the forum and I had a Sensation Mower for over 20 years and I made a long-distance move to Northern California (Sacramento area) and could not take the mower with me (I now wish I had!) I have looking for a sensation mower and have only found them available for Local pickup on the East Coast, so I came across this B*b-C*t mower that from what I have read, is the same as Sensation, right??? Why is Bob-Cat a dirty word here?

So this Bob-Cat mover has a 4hp B&S on it, in working condition and they want $150 for it. It is a few hours drive for me to get it, but was wondering if I should go for this Bob-Cat as I don't have any idea of how to get a Sensation mover or maybe piece on together???

Are the Bob-Cat Decks the same as Sensation? Should I get this mower and put the engine on a Sensation Deck? why would I want to do that?

How to get a sensation mower? or is this Bob-Cat just fine, parts interchangeable?

I am thinking of getting this as it has a 4hp engine, but can we still get these engines rebuilt?

Also, what does "NOS" stand for or mean?

Hoping you can help and thank you!

-Bob

Sensation lawn mowers and b*b-c*ts are not the same mower, nor even related company wise. The decks may look similar but that's where the similarities end. Sensation lawn mowers are the preferred industrial strength lawn mowers for quality landscapers and discerning homeowners. I'm not sure what b*b-c*ts are used for honestly. I think they submerge the decks off the coast of NJ to improve fish habitat. The briggs 4 hp is a nice score though. There may be someone here in the west coast that can point you to a Sensation, they pop up now and then here. As far as rebuilding these motors I have a shop dedicated to the full rebuilds of these. NOS stands for New Old Stock. I had an article written here about the history of Sensation. Check out the site, theres a lot here.

Thank you Rocco, I purchased the "cat" for the 4hp B&S so I will contact you about the rebuild and I need to find a sensation Deck

So now that I have the 4hp Briggs & want to replace the B-cat deck with Sensation and the STEEL wheels are 8x1.75w in the front and 10x1.75w in the rear which are ready to fall apart, I am ok with Steel replacements. where to get these wheels? I saw a post about getting wheels from Russo? but that was a post from 2017 and not sure what web site that would be and if they still have them.

Where to get a Sensation Deck? I see one on ebay but does not have the Sensation LOGO on it.

I would like to fix up/rebuild the basket hoping it will fit the sensation deck? can I transfer basket parts and handle from the old b/cat deck to the sensation and work fine?

Thanks!

I had my original Sensation mower since the early 80's and had to part with it when making a long distance move... should have kept it...anyway tracking down parts is a slow process and having Rocco work on a 4hp 110908 engine for me, so I am working on getting a Deck to work on while awaiting the engine, looking forward to the day when it's completed as I am pushing a Troy-Bilt mower right now (these things are horrible) and once you have sensation... well you know, nothing else will do.

I will start packing your deck and stuff this Monday and start your motor.
