I have a circa 1969, 21'' sensation with 3.5 Briggs & Stratton motor. It has been in my family since it was purchased. It has started on the first or 2nd pull after sitting idle for 8 months every winter in maine. this season i broke the pull cord on the 1st pull. i have access to the cord assembly, but sense it will ''Jesus'' apart in pieces (?).
would some kindly talk me thru the process to replace this original cord?
also, are there 'points' that should be replaced or cleaned and gaped?

I just purchased a mower that needs the pull cord & they opened it up & the whole flywheel pieces are missing. All I have is the spring.

Vertical pulls 3, 3.5, 4hp - RE:110908 engine
Are all the Vertical pulls the same for B&S 3, 3.5 & 4hp engines? I could not find an engine manual for my 110908 engine, Type 0259-03 in the resources area here to help decern what fits. Where can we locate an engine parts manual with part numbers?
for example, I find online the vertical pull recoil gear assy 299948 and then another 299947. then the cast vertical pull housing 396082 or 395914, So which parts fit my 4hp 110908?
Looking to get a USED complete vertical pull and rebuild it (I like to tinker), so wanting to know what engine range will fit my 110908 4hp as online some state the part# while others state just the engine, so I am getting contradictory information.
Also, let's say I step on the gas cap and damage it, which part # would be the replacement?
Or maybe I want to get a new muffler and so on...
Engine Parts list for the 4hp 110908 engine would be great if someone has it.

Vertical Pull
Any of the 3.5hp or 4hp model numbers that end in 8 should be vertical pulls. I may have one used I can sell you. I also have plenty of parts. email me and we can discuss. sensation_mowers@yahoo.com
