Consider the fact that the engine is just an air pump, The more air (and fuel) we are able to get into (and ignite in) the engine, the more power we can extract out of it. Assuming that theory is correct (it is.) then the camshaft plays a huge role in dictating the amount of fuel and air allowed into the engine. The 3.5hp engine (found on most Sensations) has a limited choice of cams. In fact there's no choice. They are all the same. They all hold the valves open long and high enough the same. I decided to take the cam profiles of higher horsepower rated engines and put them into the 3.5hp engine.
