This thread is about using this new website. Since we're still building it, things might change! Here's my thinking so far, and keep in mind this is more from the perspective of an administrator or a privileged user at this point. Everyone should feel free to ask questions though as this might help us decide how to organize stuff here!
When you use the "Add Content" link you can choose from a few types of things:
Album
Adding pictures as this type currently will NOT make them show up in the Gallery, but instead will create a special kind of gallery (like the green machine album). I think if you have a crapload of pics that are all the same build or something, then we would choose this and then write up a story about the build associated with it. I think I will set this eventually so that these DO NOT automatically show up on the front page.
Article
This should be used if you have an administrative announcement of some kind. These will automatically show up on the front page (like a blog post in reverse chronological order)
Basic page
This is for permanent content. I think we will use this for informational stuff that doesn't change much. For instance, About Us page. There might be a page all about the leaf bags - with images on it, diagrams, links to other info about the bags, links to forum posts about selling bags... So there would be one page to find all info about bags. We might have a page which is a table of all information we know about all models - a model listing - with links to other pages for each type. There might be a page for every distinct model for instance. This would be the "official" page for the model, if somebody were to provide more information in a forum post or new pics about a model, an admin would eventually update the official page. These pages can be tied together in a MENU (the Navigation block on the left is a menu) so that each page could be listed in a nested format. We might change the word Navigation to LIBRARY.
Forum topic
This is self explanatory. Folks will post about whatever they want in the various sections for discussion.
Image
Any time you post an image using this method it will go into the Gallery (which you can show by clicking gallery)
