add newer motor to orange deck

I have an orange deck and a good briggs quantum 6.5 hp motor. I bolted it up but the shaft is not long enough so the blade is up to far in the deck. Is there a shaft adapter to make the blade come lower so the blade doesn't hit the discharge. Any suggestions?
